Here is an appeal from Susan B. Anthony, directed To The Readers of The Liberator in the State of New York. Anthony calls for women to sign and solicit the names of others on a petition to the state legislature “to prevent the capture and return of fugitive slaves”. She calls upon them to remember that “one half of the slave victims are women”.
