Charles Sumner

In the Refuge of Oppression column, an article from the N.Y. Sunday Atlas,  is a vitriol-filled criticism of Sumner.  Words like “charlatan”, “humbug”, “quackery”, are common as the article regrets an attempt by the public press to “present” Sumner as a martyr, “who is simply a political humbug.”
