Creation of a new Anti-Slavery Society

This is a notice from Zion’s Herald, signed in Boston, May 31, by Dan’l Wise;
It is clearly in support of the new Massachusetts Abolition Society, and interestingly placed in the paper under the Refuge of Oppression!  It asks what is the reason for the creation of the new Society, and answers in part:  ” Truly, for no reason but that it is in defiance of the dictates and opinions of Mr. Garrison, and his party……To refuse to follow in the wake of a man is seditious and treachery!  If this be crime, I hope to be the guiltiest man in the
land……..”
