Governor of Connecticut message re Abolitionists

Appearing under the Refuge of Oppression column, the Governor, says that he is aware that many people in the state disapprove of slavery, but cautions against speculations which might result in “acts calculated to impair the harmony which ought ever to exist between the different members of our confederacy.”
