Medical Education of Women

June 22, 1849

Here is a letter to the Editor, from Samuel Gregory, Sec’ry A.M. E. Society, at 25 Cornhill.  It indicates that the American Medical Education Society, with five hundred members is making an effort to provide Midwifery  education for women. The membership includes people from many professional vocations, and they are intent on educating presently “twenty intelligent females, and they are getting into a successful practice.”  It encourages people to take membership in the Society at one dollar.
