48,000 names on petitions relative to Latimer case

January 20, 1843, the Liberator Announcing that the Latimer Commiette has 48,000 names in petitions, the paper says that the goal is to have 100,000 “sons and daughters Massachusetts against slavery in their own state”.  — The February 3 edition of the paper announces that 62,791 have signed petitions to the legislature, and 48,000 to Congress
