An Anti-Catholic Poster

The January 16, 1836 Liberator references A Disgraceful Act,  signed by “A Protestant Clergyman”.  It describes a picture of a Catholic Priest, displayed on an Engine House wall, which had several bullets in it, evidently having been used as a target.   The article decries that thing should be displayed on a city building “in such a country of freedom, and tolerance”.
