Weston, Jan 28, 1835 Friend Garrison, At a meeting recently held by some of the inhabitants of Weston, … it was resolved, that it was expedient to create an Anti-Slavery Society, and the Constitution was adopted.
The following gentlemen, were than chosen officers for the year: Jotham Haven, President; Edwin Hobbs, Vice President, Lewis Gourgas, Secretary, Claudius A. Haven, Treasurer; Counsellors: Adolphus Bruce, Marshall Smith, Benj. Thompson
