Colored people of Boston support Garrison

A VOICE FROM THE COLORED PEOPLE OF BOSTON, is the title of an article in the June 7, 1839, Liberator.  It includes resolutions passed in a meeting at the Belknap Street School.    “…. we denounce every colored person who is an enemy to Garrison (if any there be) as a foe to liberty ….”  Chairing the meeting is John Telemachus Hilton, and William Cooper Nell, is recorded as Secretary.
