David Ruggles begins Anti-Slavery Library

 ANTI-SLAVERY CIRCULATING LIBRARY   The subscriber respectfully informs his friends and the public, that he has opened a Circulating Library, at 67 Lespanard Street, one door from Broadway, where he will endeavor to keep all publications on the subject of Slavery and Colonization, that have been published. He will also supply those who will encourage him, with as many of various other works, as he is able, as he is obliged to commence with a small number of Books.
