Death of Anthony Burns

DEATH OF ANTHONY BURNS   The following letter, from Rev. Hiram Wilson to Rev. Jr. Grimes of Boston, announcing the decease of Anthony Burns, of Fugitive-Slave Law notoriety, has been kindly furnished us for publication … its intelligence will  be received with regret by the friends of the colored race; for Mr. Burns gave promise of much usefulness in the field he had chosen, and showed himself to be ‘every inch a man’.   His case has become historic, and will form a conspicuous figure in the drama of the times.   The letter follows… (Liberator, Aug 22, 1862, pg 4)
