The Liberator, March 27, 1840, pg 3 tells of death of James Cropper, in Liverpool, and includes a sonnet in honor of him, by Garrison . “It was under his auspices that we were introduced to the British public in 1833, and by his personal introduction that we received the right hand of fellowship from a host of leading abolitionists in Great Britain. At the great anti-colonization meeting which was held in Exeter Hall, he presided as Chairman…..”
