Writing to Helen, while on board ship, going to England, for the first international Convention, called by the British and Foreign Anti-Slavery Society:  “I think a great deal of my dear children, and long to hear their pleasant voices  — more vocal to my spirit that the melody of birds…”(readinggarrisonsletters, May 28, 1840)
