House of Representatives votes to Abolish Slavery

The House of Representatives on the Constitutional Abolition of Slavery.   On Monday, 15th, a resolution was adopted in the House of Representatives,  by a majority of sixteen  — declaring that “the Constitution of the United States should be amended as to abolish slavery in the United States wherever it now exists, and to prohibit its extension in any part thereof forever.”
