Many have done nobly, but it seems to us just now that the ladies of Boston have exceeded them all.  We mean the Boston Female Anti-Slavery Society,   — the undaunted little band who met and prayed for the slave in the midst of a mob of ‘5000 gentlemen of property and standing’ on the memorable 22d of October, 1835.  …………

They have excited their sisters throughout the state to petition Congress for the abolition of slavery in the District of Columbia.  As part of the result, we learn from the Liberator, that petitions have been forwarded , signed by upwards of Five Thousand females……This looks like being in earnest.  – Human Rights
