Letter from George Thompson

June 28, 1861

Writing to Garrison, from London, Thompson affirms that he is “not discouraged because the abolition of slavery is not one of the declared objects of the President in the struggle he has commenced…..No, I have confidence in the inevitable tendency of events, and there resistless influence.  The doom of slavery is sealed!..” Garrison affirms Thompson’s effort to represent the truth of the matter, in Europe.
