On the back page of the issue is an ad for Hayden’s clothing store, No. 107 Cambridge St… The announcement refers to Hayden, ” who, it will be remembered, was formerly a slave in Kentucky.” The ad features the types of clothing available, but also indicates, “… he thinks it would not be inappropriate here to return his sincere and heartfelt thanks to those who have rendered him assistance since his arrival here; and he trusts that, although he may not be able to reward them, yet that Being who knows the hearts of all men,, will render unto them their just reward.”
