Need for teachers for colored adults – Forbes

Here is an appeal to Abolitionists, signed simply, FORBES,  saying that at a recent gathering of adults for a new adult school on Belknap Street, there were more than eighty “hungry persons, starving for want of instruction  … several left the school because there was no one to instruct them.”  The school meets Wednesday and Friday evenings, at the Smith School room, and there is a need for more teachers.
