‘OWNERSHIP OF THE LIBERATOR’ The Boston Recorder of yesterday inquires —
“Is the New England Anti-Slavery Society now the owner of the Liberator?”
Answer —- NO
“Are the funds of the Society pledged for its support?”
Answer — NO
“Shall we do wrong, if we held the Society responsible for what the Liberator says of us?”
Answer — YES
The editor’s characteristic finger appears pointing: — – The editor of the Liberator is alone responsible for its sentiments. The Society, at our own request, has kindly consented to let Mr. Bacon act as our General Agent, as a matter of convenience to us.
