Scotland Appeal

AN APPEAL FROM SCOTLAND

The enormity of a religious support of American Slavery is such that Christians of the Old World are making their appeals to the church of this country.  We cheerfully give the following from one thousand and forty four Christians of Scotland, members of the Anti-Slavery Society.  The  views taken in this appeal are just, and will meet a hearty response from many thousands of American Christians, notwithstanding the great strength which American Christianity gives to the foul system

Political action we regard as the carrying out of the principles of Christianity in reference to this evil.  The moral and religious principle must lay a the foundation of this action.
