Slave Trade in the United States

The late census furnishes us some data by which we may approximate to the truth, respecvting this atrocius traffic.  The whole increase of slaves, with the rate per cent, for each decade from 1790 to 1840 is shown, with exports and imports of slaves for each state.  Total Exports valued at $233,543.   Total IMPORTS, at $221,548.  Difference 11,959.  Value at $600 a head, $140,121,800.
