Slaveholding in Charleston

The Philadelphia Enquirer publishes an extract of a letter purporting to be dated Charleston, 23d ult., from a lady, which states that not general slave insurrection had yet taken place, though several revolts had been attempted, two quite recently, in which whole families were murdered before the slaves were subdued.  These occurred in the interior of South Carolina.  The authors of the crime were BURNED TO DEATH !!  That is slaveholding infernalism!
