Society for Aid of Discharged Convicts

The Boston Society for the Aid of Discharged Convicts has made an appeal this week for additional funds to enable them to prosecute their laudable work during the ensuing year.  As the labor they are performing is one eminently worthy of sympathy and support, we trust their treasury will be made full to overflowing.  In the annual address, they rightfully claim to be an efficient branch of the police of the State, to say nothing of their higher merits.  The Society has been organized three years.  Dr. Walter Channing President, John A. Andrews, Esq., Treasurer.
