Testimony Against Capital Punishment, Phillips and Garrison

Capital Punishment  — The Judiciary Committee of the Legislature were addressed on Tuesday afternoon, at considerable length, in behalf of those who have petitioned for the abolition of the death penalty in this Commonwealth, by the Hon. Isaac H. Wright, Dr. Walter Channing, Wendell Phillips, and Wm. Lloyd Garrison.  The ‘green room’ was densely crowded with spectators, deeply interested in the subject.
