Henry C. Wright has a strong call for the ballot right for all people. “It is equally base and tyrannical , equally inconsistent with impartial Justice and Equal Rights, to make sex, as it is to make color a reason for exclusion from the ballot. …..Cannot the Abolitionists start a new movement that will cover the whole ground?…Now, while reconstructing our national and State governments, is the time to discuss these questions. Abolitionists are the ones sent and commissioned of God to do it.”
