In the August 10, 1833 issue of the Liberator, <\/em>the editor announces the publication of Lydia Maria Child’s Appeal in Favor of that Class of Americans Called Africans. <\/em>Child, a recognized novelist, in this writing comes out as abolitionist. \u00a0 Garrison comments: \u00a0“A thousand thanks to Mrs. Child for this admirable work!
