Tilton & Co.,of Boston, having sent to John Bright a volume of sermons on the death of Abraham Lincoln and a report of the Conspiracy Trials, received from him a letter of thanks, in which he says: \u201cI feel much happier now than I did a year ago, for your great war was a great burden on my spirit. I think all men should feel thankful to God that it is ended, and that the main cause of it is ended with it. Henceforth you are a free people, and a great future is opening to you.\u201d<\/p>\n
