A Plea for the Indians

July 2, 1857

In a letter to Garrison, signed by D. M. Allen, from Westminster, attention is called to a “little work”, entitled, A Plea for the Indians, by John Besson. The book is intended  ” to see if something cannot be done to arouse this government to a sense of justice towards those it has ever despised and trampled on.”  The Editor comments that he hopes many will buy the work, and “thus aid its author.”
