A wish from Alexander Dumas

Alexander Dumas, the French novelist, has written a letter to a friend in New York, in which he says, “Find for me on the borders of the St. Lawrence, the Hudson, the Delaware, or the Ohio, a corner where, surrounded by my chosen friends, I may spend my last days, and die in tranquility under the sun of liberty.”
