“Cent-A-Week Societies appear to operate very successfully in many instances as a means of collecting funds. Witness the following from the Voice of Freedom: The Montpelier Anti-Slavery Society was organized a year ago. The Treasurer informs us that the collection for the last month was $7.07 –for the whole year, $32.57. Most was collected by two or three ladies.
