Location of surviving slave of Washington

“A notice from the Hartford, Ct Review indicates that the only surviving slave of Washington’s is living in the city of Middletown.  He is nearly one hundred years  old,  draws a pension from the government for his services in the Revolutionary War.  He has a wife and one child, and he converses in three or four languages besides his own native African tongue.   (Liberator, Sept. 13, 1839)
