Ratification Progress, 13th Amendment

The Liberator, February 10, 1865, pg 3.    Ratification of The Amendment.    Both branches of the Massachusetts legislature Friday afternoon unanimously passed the bill ratifying the Constitutional Amendment abolishing slavery.  Legislatures in Maine and Illinois adopted the measure with great unanimity.  So also the Legislature of the Empire State.  Baltimore , February 8 Senate passed the Amendment in concurrence with the House.  Same in Wheeling, West Virginia, both branches.
