Speech by Henry H. Garnet – Citizenship Rights for Colored People

From the Emancipator, is a speech by “A colored young man , and a member of the Onedia Institute, at the late anniversary of the American Anti-Slavery Society”. The speech is in support of the following resolution:  “That all the rights and immunities of American citizens are justly due to the people of color, who ever have been, and still are willing to contribute their full share to enrich and to defend our common country.”
