The Famine in Ireland

February 12. 1847

A brief few paragraphs on one page, which call attention to the last page of the same issue where there is  a recounting of the “particulars of the appalling state of things among the famished, sick, perishing population of Ireland.”  It tells of a meeting held in the basement of the Church of the Holy Cross, for the relief of the poor in Ireland. It further encourages contributions to the cause, to be entrusted through Francis Jackson.
