Ad for the New York Central College

March 6, 1857

The College is situated near McGrawville, Cortland County, and “is at present manifesting gratifying signs of success.”  Note is made that it admits students “irrespective of denominational distinction, color or sex”.  It is anti-slavery and anti-sectarian in its character.  In the same edition of the paper, Azariah Smith, Librarian, of the College, has an article appealing for support for the College, titled, Please to Read This Aloud.
