Anti-Slavery Society in Adamville

A New Society….. Adamville,  April 21

A goodly number of inhabitants of Tiverton and Little Compton adopted a declaration of sentiments and constitution.  Our Society is named the Tiverton and Little Compton Anti-Slavery Society.

Thirty one, male and female subscribed to the Constitution at the time and three have since added their names.

We organized by choosing Rev. Junia S. Mowry, President;

Rev. James Smither, Vice President 

J. Sexton, Recording and Corresponding Secretary

John Dyer, Jr., Treasurer.
