Anti-Slavery Society in Lynn

Anti-Slavery Society in Lynn    Several individuals, long convinced of the evils of Slavery, and having had consultations on the important subject, think that the formation of an Anti-Slavery Society in this town would be attended with some public advantage.  A meeting for that purpose is hereby notified at the Chesnut Street School-house on Wednesday evening next, at seven o’clock.  As there is nothing sectarian or political in this measure, it is hoped that the active friends of benevolence and the rights of men, will evince that they are willing to do what may be done, consistently with reason and rectitude, for the welfare of their oppressed fellow beings.   – Lynn Democrat
