FORMATION OF THE BRITISH AND FOREIGN ANTI-SLAVERY SOCIETY:  For the abolition of the Slave Trade and Slavery throughout the World.     On Wednesday the 17th inst., the first meeting was held at Exeter Hall, London, for the formation of a National Society for the abolition of the Slave Trade and Slavery throughout the world; and if we are to judge of its future proceedings by the vigour which has characterized its first movements, we may hope great things  — the that pure rays of liberty which have melted forever the manacles off the hands of our West Indian brethren and cast them as into the dust, will from henceforth spread far and wide—– that  ——-  ‘Slavery (shall) cease and cease forever  And man shall wear a chain no more.’
