Call for National Convention of the Colored Race

An article summarizes resolutions passed at a convention held at Montrose, Pa., Sept 4, 1858,  The call illustrates the wide concern among the Colored population, that the “improvement and elevation of the colored race” is a responsibility “placed mainly on the colored people themselves”.
