Garrison Contacts with abolitionists in England

Robert  Purvis, friend of Garrison, from Philadelphia, is planning  a trip to England. Garrison writes to Purvis, including a list of letters of introduction for Purvis to deliver to people whom Garrison knows in England.  The list includes James Ryley and Dr. Hancock, in Liverpool; Joseph Sturge, Birmingham; Arthur West, Bath; Elizabeth and Mary Dudley, Peckham, near London; William Allen, Richard Barrett, Joseph Phillips, Daniel O’Connell, Dr. Lushington, George Stephen, Joseph and Emmanuel Cooper, John Scobie.
