Creating a “Movement”

March 22, 1844, Liberator Here is an announcement of one hundred conventions (usual for two days) to be held in Massachusetts, listing the towns and dates for each, and indicating some of the speakers at the various conventions.   “The friends of the cause in the named towns and their immediate vicinity are urgently requested to take every means of giving the widest possible notice of these meetings.  Let each one consider this his own personal duty.”
