It is designed to be an organ through which the refugees from Southern slavery may be heard both in American and Europe. …And if any should wish to know whether Fugitives can take care of themselves, after becoming free from bondage, subscribe to this paper! If any wish to know how we enjoy liberty, and what we think of those who have robbed us of our wives, children, and all that is sacred and dear, let them subscribe for the paper!….” (Liberator.
