Louisiana rewards for conviction of abolitionists

“A Five Hundred Dollar Reward will be paid by the Louisiana Constitution and Anti-Fanatical Association, to any person who will denounce and furnish said Society such evidence as will procure the conviction of any ABOLITIONIST or person concerned with the Anti-Slavery Societies, or who has been guilt of violating the laws of this State against instigators or leaders of sedition amongst the slaves of this State.”   (Liberator, October 17, 1835, pg 1)
