Marlboro and New Bedford on Sims and other fugitive slaves.

With the Garrison “finger”. — When the news of the return of Sims reached Marlboro’, the parish bell was tolled seventy-five times, to indicate that independence had ceased to exist.

Departure of Fugitive Slaves.    The New Bedford Mercury says: — “We are pleased to announce that a very large number of fugitive slaves, aided by many or our most wealthy and respectable citizens, have left for Canada, and parts unknown, and than many more are in the way of departure.  The utmost sympathy and liberality prevails towards this class of our population.’
