New England School of Design for Women

This article (Liberator, August 8, 1851), tells of the intent to create the School, and indicates that there will be a meeting at which  the Board of Directors will be chosen, and encourages subscriptions to support the school effort.  The editor introduces the article with these words:  ” Here is a new philanthropic and important enterprise, to which we give our warmest commendation.  The amplest success to it!”
