Northern man and reign of terror in Georgia

A Northern man just escaped from Georgia, where he has been in business for several years, informs the Rochester Advertiser  that there is a reign of terror in Georgia – no Union man dare utter his sentiments, but he believes that fully one-third would rejoice to see the Federal troops enter the State in triumph.  The Union men at heart talk the loudest for secession in the streets – and do it for safety and to avoid suspicion.  They give money, and even go into the rebel army, but they are, nevertheless, for the Union, and will show it when they can do so without an absolute certainty of death staring at them….
