Here is a complaint that the above Board is “using every means which a cautious diplomacy can suggest, to get the British churches and ministers committee to its support and advocacy”….they attempt to “hide the enormous fact of their religious connection,  fellowship, and co-membership with men who are themselves owners of human beings (often of members of the same church as themselves), and who justify and defend slaveholding as right in itself, and as in accordance with the Word and will of God.”
