The colored veterans of the 54th regiment belonging in New Bedford, 22 in number, were handsomely received home by the citizens of that city on Saturday evening.They were welcomed at the depot and escorted to the City Hall, where the Rev. Henry R. Harrington presided over a public meeting, made a fine address, and was followed by James B. Congdon, Esq., in similar remarks.
