Webster’s last moments

Mr. Webster’s last Moments —  The New England Farmer is responsible for the following.  It confirms a rumor which has gained very considerable credence:  — ‘We learn on very reliable authority, that Mr. Webster confessed to a warm political friend, a short time before his death, that the great mistake of his life was the famous 7th of March speech, in which, it will be remembered, he defended the Fugitive Slaw Law, and fully committed himself to the Compromise measures. ‘
