Black and White, from same parent

Black and White.  A negro woman residing at No. 3 Richmond street,  gave birth on Sunday to two living infants, one of which is black and the other white.  —  Exchange.

Qr. How would Chief Justice Taney draw the distinction between the two, as regards their being or not being citizens of the United States?  Can one sue in the federal courts, and not the other?  Or are both shut out in consequence of the African blood which is presumptively in them?
